Pulse Raisers

My Pulse Raisers walks will motivate you to do just that!  These walks are about challenging yourself to walk outside of your comfort zone, because that’s how we get fitter!  The aim is to increase the rate at which your heart pumps blood to your muscles and the capacity of your lungs to deliver oxygen where it’s needed.  This will lead to those all important cardiovascular improvements.  I may encourage you to go for a longer walk or pick up your pace for intervals of time; to tackle a steep incline with intensity or change up the terrain to keep your body guessing.  Whichever Pulse Raiser you choose you can be sure I’ll have your safety in mind as a priority…always!

Please note that 'challenging' is a relative term and is very much dependent on your starting point. In the WalkFitter context challenging means increasing your heart rate for a sustained period of time. For clarity, my Pulse Raisers series is not aimed at hill walkers but is certainly a good place to start if that is a future goal.
