Hi, I’m Fiona, a walking and movement coach helping women over 50 walk Further, Faster and Fitter through progressive walking and strength-based coaching.
WalkFitter is for women who want to feel stronger, fitter and more confident on their walks. Whether that means improving stamina, walking more comfortably on hills, increasing pace, building strength or simply feeling more energised and capable in everyday life.
My coaching combines walking mechanics, movement coaching and functional strength to help you move more efficiently, build real-world strength and get more from every step.
I don’t believe lasting change comes from simply telling people what to do or handing then another exercise programme to complete on their own. My role is to help you better understand your body, build confidence in your own abilities and make small, meaningful changes that fit your life. Together, we’ll focus on steady progress, celebrating wins along the way and building habits and strength that last.
For over a decade, I’ve helped women improve walking fitness, posture, balance, confidence and walking technique while navigating the changes that can come with midlife; things like foot pain, stiffness, reduced strength, joint niggles or feeling less confident physically than they once did.
Rather than giving up the walks they enjoy, many women discover that with the right guidance, they can continue getting stronger, fitter and more capable year after year.
I know this first-hand. Walking was a lifeline for me at a time when I couldn’t do anything else, so I know how important it is and that’s why I created WalkFitter – a progressive pathway with walking at its core that gradually builds the strength to support your active lifestyle.
Some women join to improve fitness and walk further. Others want to feel stronger and more confident keeping up on group walks, tackling hills and stairs or reducing the aches and fatigue that can take the enjoyment out of walking.
Whatever your goal, WalkFitter is designed to help you feel stronger, walk better and keep doing more of what you love.
George and I just wanted to say thanks for all your patience, help and encouragement introducing us to Nordic walking. We really get a lot out of the classes with all your skill introducing exercises to help and make sure we stretch safely. I no longer get a sore lower back walking uphill thanks to improving my technique and George feels his posture is improving. It’s been a revelation. So good to get outside and get some fresh air too !
