About Me

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step
- Lao Tzu

Hi, I’m Fiona Fisher.

I’m a walking and movement coach predominantly helping women over 50 walk Further, Faster and Fitter through progressive walking, movement and strength-based coaching.

For well over a decade, I’ve helped women improve their walking fitness, posture, balance and movement quality while building the strength needed to enjoy walking for years to come.

But I don’t believe lasting change comes from simply telling people what to do.

My role is to help you understand how your body moves, build confidence in your own abilities and discover practical solutions that work for your life.  Rather than relying on rigid rules or one-size-fits-all advice, I aim to help you become more aware of your own movement, recognise what’s helping or holding you back and find realistic ways to keep moving forwards.

Alongside this coaching approach, I combine walking mechanics and functional strength training to help you move more efficiently and feel stronger and more confident – whether that means walking further, tackling hills or stairs more comfortably, improving stamina or simply enjoying walking again.

Why walking became so important to me

Walking has not only shaped my career, but also my personal understanding of movement, health and sustainable fitness.

In 2018, my own health changed dramatically and I went from being highly active to struggling with severe fatigue, joint pain and exercise intolerance. During that time, walking became my way of staying connected to movement, fitness and wellbeing when more intense forms of exercise simply weren’t possible.

That experience completely reshaped the way I think about fitness and health.

I realised that sustainable movement matters far more than extremes. That building strength gradually and consistently matters more than pushing harder. And that walking, when combined with the right approach to strength training and movement, can become one of the most powerful tools for long-term physical and mental wellbeing.

If you've ever stopped doing the walks you love because of pain, reduced confidence or uncertainty about what your body is capable of, I'd love to help you rediscover what's possible.
